Because of its wholistic structure, CFC also has
the following family ministries: Kids for Christ ( KFC ) for children
up to 13 years, Youth for Christ ( YFC ) – for 14 to 21 years,
Singles for Christ ( SFC ) – for 22 to 40 years, Handmaids
of the Lord ( HOLD ) – for single/married/separated women,
and Servants of the Lord ( SOLD ) – for men who are single/married/separated,
and of course, CFC – for couples themselves. It is a womb-to-tomb
ministry.
CFC is a parish-based group and has a presence at
St Andrews Parish. Some of its members participate in the life of
the parish as liturgical ministers, acolytes, choir members and
as regular parishioners. Those who are interested in understanding
more can contact the CFC through the Parish Office.
Couples for Christ is recognised as an international
association of the faithful with a juridical personality, according
to Canons 298-311 and 321-329 of the Code of Canon Law. This decree
was issued by the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Laity,
signed by James Francis Cardinal Stafford, President, on 11 March
2000.
The Couples for Christ Logo:
The two inner concentric circles stand for the wedding rings of
husband and wife. They depict Christian marriage, where two have
become one. They stand for unity of spouses in mutual love and respect.
The outer ring represents the globe or the world, and CFC’s
evangelistic mission to make disciples of all nations & help
in God’s plan to bring all things in heaven and earth under
one Lord Jesus Christ ( Eph 1:10 ). The cross stands for Jesus Christ,
who is the centre of our Christian lives. The dove represents the
Holy Spirit, who is our guide, counsellor, advocate, power and strength.
It indicates the charismatic dimension of our spirituality &
use of spiritual gifts in this work of renewal. The whole logo means
CFC is a work of Christ. It is made up of families in the Holy Spirit
renewing the face of the earth.
