Faith Education and Formation:
Baptism
Preparation: Each year we have over 100 children baptised
in the parish and each of these families has to undergo Baptism
preparation. This group runs the programs for these families.
Scripture
Teachers (Catechists): These volunteers educate our students
in the state schools in our faith. The sharing of faith is a basic
part of being a Christian.
Sacramental
Facilitators: The task of a facilitator is to work with
parents and children in classes as they prepare for the sacraments
of Reconciliation and Confirmation & First Holy Communion.
Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA): This program
is a journey of faith. The fundamental aim of the program is to
offer education and formation for people who, though not Catholic,
are interested in learning about the Catholic faith. The program
is also for Catholics who wish to update their understanding of
their faith. It is not just about knowledge, but is more concerned
with how to live as a Christian in this day and age.
Advent
and Lenten Reflection and Discussion Groups: These programs
are aimed to offer participants a means of making the most of these
seasons of the year in regard to our faith journey.
Café
Program: This is a program of video presentations, readings,
discussions and reflections held regularly throughout the year in
an informal setting. It assists the participants in their faith
journey.
Faith
Sharing Discussion Group: This group monthly to share
experiences in faith using various reference materials.
