At St Andrew’s it is our aim, through our Music Ministry, to encourage the congregation to actively participate in the Liturgy through singing. It is our ministry to lead the congregation in this endeavour.

We are fortunate to have a variety of music groups in our parish who are rostered on all weekend Masses, except the 7.30am Mass on Sunday. This requires most groups committing themselves to a rostered Mass once or twice a month. We also encourage our Music Ministry members to come together as one community on special occasions. Our usual community celebrations include: Christmas, Easter, First Eucharist, Confirmation, Bereavement Mass, and a parish Christmas Concert every second year.

Our Music Ministry is led by the Music Committee that comprises members of each group. The music is chosen to compliment the readings of each Mass. We include new hymns at regular intervals and we have a Combined Practice once a month, to which all members are invited, where new hymns are learned and older hymns revised.
