We make this prayer through the Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father
who gives to all the gift of His love through World Youth Day,
and who has entrusted to our nation the sign of the Cross,

And of the Son
who was crucified out of love for us to bring healing and mercy
and who teaches us to carry our cross with courage and hope,

And of the Holy Spirit
who makes us witnesses of love to the ends of the earth.
We pray for the Journey of the Cross and Icon
throughout the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.
May this pilgrimage bless the lives of all who encounter Christ in the Cross
and behold the image of Mary our Mother.
We ask that this Journey may truly prepare young hearts
and our nation for World Youth Day 2008.
