In the spirit of compassion and solidarity St Andrew’s parish Social Justice Group is partnering with the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations and Mahboba’s Promise for a special social justice event on Sunday, 26 July, 11:45am -1.30pm in the Piazza. Come hear the inspiring story of Mahboba Rawi, who has dedicated her life to saving war-torn Afghan widows and orphans. Following the 2021 return of the Taliban, Mahboba heroically evacuated nearly 100 vulnerable orphans to safety here in Western Sydney, a few of whom you can meet at Mahboba’s talk.
Facilitated by the St Andrew’s Parish Social Justice Group, this is a unique opportunity for our parish to engage in dialogue, reflecting our shared values of compassion and solidarity .
Ahead of this event we are having a Food Drive. Grocery items donated to this cause will directly feed and support these children in Australia. Please be mindful of Halal food and Afghan friendly ingredients:
