Safeguarding Training for Parishes of the Blacktown Deanery

All Clergy, employees and volunteers in Ministry at Parishes in the Blacktown Deanery are now due to update their Safeguarding Training Modules. 

New to Ministry or have not begun any Safeguarding Training? Complete Introductory Modules 1-3 (Cycle 1)

Face- to-Face Cycle 1 opportunities are available on:

• During the day on Wednesday 11^thFebruary at Bishop Bede Heather Centre Blacktown (9.30am-2.30pm) 

 

Did you complete Cycle 1 Modules two years ago? Complete Renewal Modules 4 and 5 (Cycle 2)

Face- to-Face Cycle 2 opportunities are available on:

• Monday evenings 16^th(Mod 4) and 23^rd February (Mod 5) at St Andrew’s Marayong (7.00pm-8.30pm)
• During the day on Monday 23^rdFebruary at St Andrew’s Marayong (10.00am-1.30pm)
• Wednesday 11^thMarch at Bishop Bede Heather Centre Blacktown (9.30am-1.00pm) 

 

Did you renew your Cycle 2 Modules 4 & 5 two years ago? Complete Refresher Module 6 (Cycle 3)

Face- to-Face Cycle 3 opportunity is available on:

• During the day on Monday 10^thFebruary at St Andrew’s Marayong (10.00am-12.00noon)

Safeguarding Training Modules can always be completed independently online at –

Cycle 1 (New volunteers who have not completed any training within the Diocese)

Module 1: Understanding Safeguarding and the Child Safe Standards (45min)

Module 2: Legal Compliance, ROSH (Risk Of Significant Harm) and RC (Reportable Conduct) (45min)

Module 3: Working with Adults at Risk and Understanding Boundaries (45min)

 

Cycle 2 (Renewal Training for volunteers who completed Cycle 1 two years ago)

Module 4: Applying the Child Safe Standards to Safeguard Children & Adults at Risk (45min)

Module 5: Legal Compliance: Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) and Reportable Conduct (45min)

 

Cycle  3 (Renewal Training for volunteers who completed Cycle 2 two years ago)

Module 6:  Legal Compliance and Continuous Improvement

–we hope the online version of this Refresher Module will be available by the end of February 2026.

Please update your Safeguarding Training this Autumn. Your renewal date will then be Autumn 2028.

The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a NSW Government requirement for anyone who works or volunteers in child-related work in NSW (Renewed every five years).
