Proposed Building Project St Andrew the Apostle Parish, Marayong

Dear Parishioners,

This information is help you understand what the proposed building project will entail here at St Andrew the Apostle Parish, Marayong.
A few years ago, the Parish did commence looking at renovating the FBC, but those investigations were put on hold, when Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) launched a Master Plan project for Schools across the Diocese, including St Andrew’s.
This Master Plan allowed for the establishment of an Early Learning Centre (ELC) on the site of the Primary School and the FBC was identified as a possible location for that ELC.
After about a year of work realising the first stage of the Master Plan the process was put on hold by CSPD. But Community Ventures, which is a not-for-profit company set up by the Diocese to run ELC’s and before and after school care programs came to the Parish, interested in seeing if we could continue the ELC without the completion of the Master Plan.
We have been working on the redevelopment of the FBC into an ELC, the construction of new Meeting Rooms to replace those that will be lost from the FBC and the renovation of the Parish Office building.
To maximise the return to the Parish, the Parish is financing the entire project. It is a lot of money but because of the generosity of the Parish and wise and prudent management of our resources, we and the Diocese are comfortable that we can pay off the loan and this allows us to create a new income stream for the Parish that will be ongoing into the future.
Changes in Government legislation allows these developments to take place without a DA. This obviously makes our timeline much faster and more certain.
